AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. BRITISH FISHERIES. LONDON, June 3. Considerable uneasiness is being iclt at Hull, owing to a remarkable recline in the quantity of fish on the Dogger Bank. Experts say that it is the most serious decline for years. It is not known whether it is due to natural phenomena, or the result of naval activities in the North Sea during war time. A FOURFOLD MURDER. BUD A P ESTII, June 3' A clerk, named Molncr Toth, has been arrested and charged with a f.r*:fold murder. It is alleged that he shot M. Laehmann, who recently re turned from America. He later shot l.achninnn's daughter in the presence of the dead man’s wife and son. Then he shol the son.
It is stated that ilie wife helped him to bury the girl’s body in a llower bed. Fearing that lie would be betrayed, it is alleged tlmt bo finally strangled the wiiinanfi and bid her liodv in a trunk.
A GRIM TRAGEDY. GENEVA. June 3.
A grim alpine tragedy has been solved* by the discovery on tlu* Ifficin Alp. near I.enk, of the bodies of Dr Kahm ami bis brother, both eminent alpinists, whom an avalanche swept into a crevasse iu December. The brothers were locked in each other's arms. their hollies heing perfectly preserved. Their haversacks had been emptied. Apparently they lived for a. week at the bottom of tho precipice, vainly ho] ing for help. Swiss guides spent a fortnight in endeavouring to locate them, running great risks from avalanches.
