Tho Magistrate said no blame attached to the returning officer.

SEAMAN’S DEATH. AUCKLAND, June 5. Patrick Gunn, a seaman on tho steamer Koromike. fell from the wharf last night. When rescued, life was extinct. A gash on the head indicated lie had lieett severely injured in falling. He was aged 03 and his wife and family reside at AYellington. Patrick Ryan, who dived to rescue Guun, was assisted back to the wharf and hospitulled, having an injury to his ribs.
