NEW ZEALAND AWARDS. ArsTKAI.IAN AM) N.Z. ( Alll.i: ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND . June 1. The Governor-General announces that His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased, on the occasion of his birthday, to confer the following hoiu’ill's in recognition of distinguished services : Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (K.ILK.I --R-ohl. Howard Nolan, C.B.K. Honorary Societal y and OHiccr-in-Cliarge of the New Zealand Soldiers’ Club in London, Imm the date of its inception, early in the war. until it-, close some time after hostilities ceased. The Club, which was admirably conducted, was of incalculable value to New Zealand troops on leave. Mr Nolan was formerly associated with agricultural development and progress in Taranaki province. He was created Coiiimiuider of the Order of the British Empire in 1918. Knighl ami Bachelor.—The Hon.
Erodoriek Revans Chapman. He was appointed a Judge of New Zealand ill 19 13; President of the Court of Arbitration from 11*03 to 1907. and compiler of th<' New Zealand Statutes. 1921. Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Rath (C'.IL). Military Division.— Commodore Alan Geoffrey Hotham. C.M.G.. Naval Aide-de-Camp to the King, in recognition of valuable -I wives rendered in organising recruiting and training fur the New Zealand Divi-ion of the Royal Navy, and as naval adviser to the New Zealand Government.
Companion of the Mo-t Diuingui-h----ed Order i f St. Michael and St. George (O.M.G.b -.fames William Tibbs, M. A., one of the Dominion’s leading educationalists, who recently retired free the position of Headmaster of the Auckland Grammar School, which he had occupied for many years with eonsuicuoils success.
C.M.G.— Thomas Edward Donne. Secretary at the New Zealand High Commissioners Office, London. He joined the New Zealand Public Service in 1875. and became Superintendent of the Departemnt of Tourist and Health Resorts in 1001. He entered the High Commissioner’s Office. London, in 1909.
Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (0.8. E.). —Frederick William Flanagan, permanent head of the Valuation Department. He has lieen a member of the New Zealand Public Service for more than half a century.
