IHE EDUCATION BOARD., of die District of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the Education Act, 1914, and its'amendments, hereby PUBLICLY NOTIFIES that tile HOUSEHOLDERS of the following school districts, haying failed to elect Committees at the annual meetings held on the 23rd. April, 1923, tlie Board directs that MEETINGS of householders in each of the said districts BE HELD ON MONDAY, 25th. JUNE, 1923, at half-past sefen o’clock in the evening, for the ELECTION OF COMMITTEES lor such districts for the year ending in April, 1924. In each case the number of members to lie elected is FlVE:—Aitliur’s Pass, Boddyiowit. Bruce Bay. Esk Valley. Eyre ton, Glen Kowhai, Hakataramea Valley. Mari Hari. Humphries, Jackson, Kiri Kiri, Kimiara, TTumara Junction. Lauriston, Little Akalon, Lynton Downs, Marstlcu, Marshland, Mason’s Flat. Ngaherc. Oknrito, Okurii, llewaiiiti. Rockwood. Rolleston, Sedgemere, Stafford. .Sutherlands, Swannanoa. Ted(lingtou, Waikaknhi. West Melton, Whitereck.
Tiie place of .MEKTIXC shall be the SCIIOOIVROOM in cat'll district. The Board further directs■ that the first meeting of each School Committee shall he held in the place appointed for the Election, and immediately after the election upon the same evening. The Hoard further calls upon the householders of each of the districts to send to the Chairman of the school committee (or the Commissioner as the case may be), in writing on or before AIOXDAY, JEXE 18th,. not later than 8 p.in.. the names of the persons, being householders nominated by them for the election to serve upon the Committee. Such nominations must be signed by the proposer ami by the candidate and must be in the form set forth in the Schedule to the Act er to the effect thereof. In addition to such nominations any householder present at the meeting may nominate any qualified candidate who is present at the meeting, and who consents hy word of mouth or by writing, to lie so nominated.
