Store pigs -- A. small yarding, erenprisitig umstlv of good sorts, dhe demand was not keen. AYea tiers 5s to IPs 0-1. small stores 12s to 10s, medium 13s to 235. large In 395; sows in rig £3 -r.s to £3 Ids'.
Beef—Another large yarding, comprising CIO head ::s against -115 head last week. The entry included some excellent station hues and the quality gone!-lly was much better all round. The market for well finished light weight steers and prime heifers was decidedly firmer, being about 15s to 20s per head better than last week. Heavy beef was also firmer but light and uuiin.khcd sorts shewed no change. Prime steers £9 to £l2, extra to .Cl 3 10s; medium £0 10s to £8 15s. others £•! to CO; prime heifets £5 to £8 ss, extra- to £lO 12s 6d., others £3 to £-1 15s; prime cows C 4 10s to .£'7. extra to £8 55., others £3 to £7 os.
Mutton-- A much smaller yarding, again mostly consisting of ewes, very few wethers being yarded. The quality was, however, generally hotter and the market- opened decidedly firmer than at lest week’s sale. The market impr-.ved throughout showing a general rise of 2s Gd to Is per head allround. In some eases more outside buyers and country butchers helped considerably to keep the market firm, piiine wethers 32s Gd to 375.. extra to -I is 7cl; medium 29s Gd to 325, others 2os Gd to 295; ewes (prime) 21s Gd to s!)x. extra 32s 7d : medium 22s to 21s. ethers lGs to 21s Gd. Lambs—There was a small yarding of fat lambs, hut a red good sale, exporters operating keenly, and the average over all price was 9Jd per lb or better.
