The "Sunday Express” understands Mr Chamberlain was offered the Ambassadorship at Washington, but declined. He had declined' a similar proposal through Lord Gurzou during Mr Boiinr Law's administration. Mr Baldwin has followed Mr Lloyd George’s example of having a woman secretary, Miss Weston. who during llio war was Secretary to tho Chancellor of the Exchequer. Mr Bonar Law was able to-day to take a motor tour in the country.
