AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. EMPIRE DAY OBSERVANCE. (Received this dav at 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, May 24. Empire Day in London was bright and cold. The chief outward sign of the observance was a flag day held by the Veterans’ Association for the relief of ex-servicemen and the establishmnt of a hostel. Baron Invcrforth, President of the Association placed a wreath from Princess Beatrice on the Cenotaph. He was accompanied by Mrs Baldwin, the Duchess of Norfolk, and representatives of the Dominions and Crown Colonies.
