ARTHUR’S PASS TUNNEL.
MR CLIMIE’S REPORT. [my teleorafii —per press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, May 25. Mr P. 11. Climie, Organiser of the Progress League, after inspecting Otira Tunnel says that trains should run through within the next three or four weeks, and the slips on the Midland lino will not delay tho opening. Nevertheless he was disappointed at the amount of work still to he carried out, and he felt that the progress of the work was suffering from a want of co-operation 'between those in charge of the various brandies, and at Otira end he was surprised to find the electrical contractors engineers still in sole possession of the power station, and none of the Railway Department permanent men-had arrived. burthermore, the electric locomotive drivers had not yet put in an appearance.
