EVIDENCE SHOWING “SYSTEM.” APPEAL TO BE HEARD MONDAY. [by TELEGRArn rER TRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, May 24. At the Supremo Court yesterday, Mr Justice Chapman heard in chambers an appeal hv Air Treadw*cll on behalf of Daniel Richard Cooper, asking that Ins Honour reserve for the Court of Appeal, the question of law as to whether tlie evidence showing “system’ should have been admitted. Air Alacassey appeared for tho Crown. After hearing argument Afr Justice Chapman said lie could not grant tlie application as there was no ground for it. Later Afr Treadwell prepared a motion asking that the Court of Appeal consider tho appeal by Cooper against his conviction, on tho ground that tlie evidence show ing “system” 'w as inadmissible. The hearing of the appeal has been set down for Monday.
