AYESTLAND SUB-UNION. The usual weekly meeting of the Union was held last evening at 8 pan. Present: —-Messrs F. McGregor (President), 1). R. Dowell, H. Lynch, L. Aldridge, P. Gilford, A. AY. Dowell, J. J. Breeze, G. Tomlinson, H. Bishop, A. Cuthush, J. Stafford. R. Lynn and C. J. P. Sellers. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and correspondence read and contents noted, a letter from the Returned Soldiers’ Association asking for a benefit match on June 2nd.—Received. .Air J. Stafford moved the request he granted.—Seconded hv 1.. Aldridge and carried. Emm Hockey Club re gates.--Receiv-ed. Air I). Dowell moved the letter be received and consideration he deferred. Seconded by J. J. Breeze.
Air F. McGregor moved an amendment that the Club he advised of the financial position and that at present, the Union cannot. offer any help. Seconded by Air Bishop. The amendment became a motion and was carried. A letter was received from the amusement tax office. Mr L. Aldridge moved that the Union use the TaxDepartment tickets on June ‘lth. Seconded by Mr Cuthush and carried. A reply from the Borough Council granting use of Cass Square to the Union for June 4th. was received with thanks. A latter from the AY.C.R.I . re arranging matches with Grey mouth.—Reicived. It was moved that the Union will entertain the proposal as soon as the fixtures are over. REFEREES FOR SATURDAY. SENIORS. Air I! if lord asked, on behalf ol the United Club to have his team given a spell on Saturday to enable the team to recoup from their accidents. —Received. Alter considerable discussion. Mr Gifford moved United v. Hari Hari matches, senior nr.d junior he put hack to some future date. Seconded by Air Aldridge and carried unanimously. Mari Hari v. United, Senior and Junior matches are therefore postponed indefinitely.
