A scheme for an organised “army of tho air’’ is Using worked upon now by the French authorities, writes an air correspondent. Large multi-en-gined aeroplanes of the now programme, intended during pence time for the carriage of passengers and freight, are to be so constructed that with a minimum of time and trouble th.ev can be converted into troop ’planes. The plan provides for the formation, among infantry regiments, of “pools,” cr reserves, of small, agile men, each chosen for his suitability as a “flying soldier.” It is- hoped that on an outbreak of war a licet of big aitexpresses, complete with their skilled pilots, eoukl be tnobilsed instantly for the transport of an army.
