The funeral of tho actress, Miss Phyliss Porter, who died at Wellington us the result of burns, was largely attended hv the public and members of the theatrical profession. The route to the cemetery was lined with crowds of people. There were numerous floral tributes. LEAVE TO APPEAL. SYDNEY, May 17. The Full Court has granted - Dr. Thompson leave to appeal to the Privy Council. (Dr. Thompson some time hack, secured a heavy verdict against the British Medical Association, from which he had boon expelled in connection with his association with Mrs Farr’s case. The verdict was set aside by the Full Court). THREATS OF VIOLENCE. SYDNEY. May 17.
Residents of Mundcoran, Mudgco district are receiving threatening notes signed by Roy Governor. Ihe polite investigations so iar have proved futile. The supposition has been advanced that someone is using Governor’s name to cover up numerous potty robberies, or practical jokers are trying their hands.
