The second spell slightly favoured Metropolitan, the New Zealand threequarters neutralising effective forward work by faulty handling. The bell ringer rang the hell 20 minutes before time by mistake, the match ending abruptly. Buchanan and Thorne scored tries. Burrows and Grossman ■onverting. The last-named also kicked a penalty goal, while for New Zealand, Murray scored a try, Diaclt converting.
