At the south end of the Mihiwaka. tunnel, the bank that carried the line lias collapsed for (iOl’t. A bridge will lie built over the chasm. Out ram is completely isolated, and there is no way of approaching it From Mosgiel or South Taiori. The road last night was covered with water. Fortunately. this morning the river dropped front 19ft to 14ft.' The Tnicri river tins morning fell off. The South Tnicri is still badly Hooded. The main South Road between Otnkio and TTcnly is covered with water. Farmers' properties will not be fit for slock for months to come, owing to the less of grass. Fortunately, all the stock were removed to the high country during the last flood, and are still there. No losses are reported.
OTAGO FLOODS. 1 FEET LESS TITAN BIG FLOOD. OTAGO CENTRAL TRAIN BLOCKED DUNEDIN, .May 15. Tho flood waters have receded practically over the whole of Dunedin so barbs. On the'Hat the flood was four feet less tlmn the big visitation. Tin- Otago Central railway is again blocked. A train from Ranfurley bad just passed Flat Stream yesterday when a big slip came down completely blocking tho line. The train, which was despatched from Dunedin for Central at 5 p.m. was therefore unable to get through. This is not expected to fie cleared before noon to-day.
