AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. LICENSING REFORMS. LONDON, May 11. The Premier has introduced a llill in iho Belfast Parliament instituting licensing reforms. The Rill provides for the total closing of hotels on Sundays and Christmas Day. the abolition of grocers’ spirit licenses, and the abolition of bona tide travellers’ privileges. The Rill admits the compensation principle.
THE DEPORTEES. (Received this day at 8 a.m.i LONDON. May 12 Mr O’Higgins, Minister of Home Affairs, announced the 1' rec State would hand over to Rritain all the deportees, when asked to do so. He stated the examination of the agreement under which the prisoners were obtained, shows the weakness in view of Art O’Rrien’s appeal. This decision promises to smooth Rritain s path, ii the appeal to the Lords is unsuccessful.
