The "Daily Chronicle” commenting on tlie N.Z. loan, says N.Z. stocks have always been favourites with investors, owing to her excellent sinking fund arrangements. A million of the new issue is going towards tlie redemption of two and a half millions ot debentures coming due in August. A considerable amount of the remainder will he spent in contracts in Britain for materials. The ".Morning Post” welcomes, as a distinctly good feature, tho detailed information relating to the Dominion s financial position, given in the prospectus. LONDON. -May 9. Tlie “Financial Times” says the New Zealand loan was underwritten with the promptitude associated with all such issues, hut gentle protests arose at the apparently high price which the colony asks for the new stock. As a trustee investment stock, the loan may he recommended with confidence.
