LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— IN RESPONSE TO REQUESTS from many ratepayers in tho Riding, I have consented to nomination for a seat on tho Council. My association with the' County has been life long, and my knowledge of the progress and development of the district of simihu duration. While previous Councils have left good records. 1 am of opinion that more active interest- is required in the Central Riding. Tho question of better roads is important at this stage, and a policy of improvement in that direction "ill have my whole-hearted support. The rates are capable of further reduction. and with close supervision of the important works undertaken by the Council and less time devoted hv the employees to small details, further economies could he effected. The matter of the Kanieri Bridge, is nt first importance, and now that this work is under the control of the Council it should he put in first class order, and if returned, I shall aim at this being (lone. Generally, my earnest desire will bo to secure progress throughout- the Riding by a judicious expenditure of the Council’s Funds, and if you honour me with your confidence at- the Poll my aim will he in the above direction.
