My association with the Comity has been hie long, and mv knowledge of the progress and development of the district of similar duration. While previous Councils have le.t oood records, I am of opinion that niore active interest is required m the Central Biding. The question of better reads is important at this stage, and a policv of improvement in that direction will have my whole-hearted support. The rates are capable of further reduction, and with close supervision of the important works undertaken » the Council and less time devoted by the employees to small details, further economies could be effected. Tire matter of the Kaniert Bridge, is of first importance, and now that this work is under the control of the Council it should be put in first class order, and if returned. I shall aim at this being clone. Generally, my earnest desire will he to secure progress throughout the Riding bv a judicious expenditure of the Council's Funds, and if you honour me with vour confidence at the Poll mv aim will he in the above direction.
