In connection with the rumours that oversea meat interests are contemplating the purchase of freezing works in this Dominion, the Chairman cf the N.Z. Aleat Producers’ Board, Air David Jones, has had this matter under consideration for some time, and had decided that it would do everything in its power to discountenance any such purchase cf the erection of works in the Dominion Hie Board, he said, is unanimously of opinion that- it is not in the best interests of the meat producers of the Dominion that any s.rcli purchase should be made, or that oversea concerns should acquire any lurcher interests in New Zealand freezing works, or that new works should be erected by other than New Zealand interests. The Board lias nowdecided that, in the event cf such purchase or purchases, or erection of freezing works by oversea interests, without the approval cf the Board, it will take such action tt 3 will prevent such interests controlling the meat going through such freezing works.
