Bolshevik anti-Church campaign was furthered in Georgia, where the head of the Catholic Church was imprisoned together with eighty to ninety per Cent of the entire priesthood in the province. Armed Cheka agents scoured the whole country requisitioning church treasures. The churches were turned i nto Communist clubs, despite the opposition of the population.
