OAMARU ELECTION.
FIXE WEATHER FOR ROLL. HEAVY ROLLING EXPECTED. [by TELEGRAPH PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] O AMARU, May 1. The weather is fine for the election, which is proceeding without any appearance of excitement. From tlic opening, a steady stream of voters has hcen passing through the polling booths. There is a certainty that the poll will ha the heaviest in the history of the electorate. It is probable that the poll will lie known before nine o’clock, but the final result may not lie ascertained lor some days, as 3-12 absent voters permits have been issued against 238 at the December election. AIR aiassey retreats. AIR W ILFORD HOLDS ON. OAMARF. May 1. Air Massey is not remaining here for the result of the election. He is leaving for Wellington this afternoon. Air Wilford 'stays for the finish.
