W EST I. AN 1) SUB-UNION. MONDAY, APRIL 30th. The weekly meeting of Westland Sub-Union was held at 8 p.m. Pre--viit--Messrs F. Ah Gregor (President), G. J. I'. Selier.-. 11. Lynch, D, 11. Dowell, G. Tomlinson, A. Cutlmsli, 11. I). AleAlanmiway, R. Lynn, J. Laing, A. W. Dowell, J. Bain. G. • Gilford, L. Aldridge, J. Stafford, G. McCullough, J. ilowat. Tho minutes of the previous meeting were lend and confirmed. Correspondence was read and contents noted. The Chairman before proceeding tendered Air Sellers a hearty greeting to the Union table. Air Stafford moved that J. Nolan lie transferred to Arahura dub. Seconded by A. W. Dowell and carried. A protest from Arahura Club re referee was referred to the Referee’s Association. Mr Stafford injected to Mr Sumner being appointed to referee Arahuni’s matches and gave his version of the iucdciiLs. Discussion was centred on this question. Air Aldiidge moved that the letter be received and no action taken. Seconded by G. AkCulloiigh. and carried, two voices dissenting.
A letter from Hari Hari Sports Club re fixtures, was received. Air R. Lynn moved that n:i fixtures affecting their Club be set down tor that date, June 9th. Seconded by Air Aldridge and carried. A letter of thanks was received from Mr Haile.
A letter from theKumara Club asking to be allowed to join in the senior eompetiion was received. Considerable discussion ensued on that- point. Mr Sellers moved that Air Dowell be given power to move that the piovioi s motion bo rescinded. Seconded by A. Cntbush and carried.
Mr Dowell moved that Kuniara Club and United Juniors be allowed to enter their respective compel it ions. Seconded by A. Cuthush. The motion was carried.
Word was received from J. 1 . Milsoil re Schools Competition. Mr McCullough was appointed as tho l Ilian's delegate. Referees reports were read and. adopted and it was resolved to advise Hart llari to have their dead ball hues cut and defined anti also to erect, new goal-posts. Applications were received for reclassification of C. OUiver, R. M. Jones, and H. Steel. Mr H. Lynch moved these plavers he reclassified to junior. Seconded by Mr I). R. Dowell and carried Air McCullough moved J. 1.-aing he reclassified as a junior. Seconded by Mr J. How at and carried. Mr Aldridge moved that the accounts tabled be passed for payment. Agreed to. \ deputation of the Chairman, Secretary, C. J. P. Sellers, and L. Aldridge was instructed to wait on Council in respect of matters affecting the fence on Cass Square. H D. MoMannaway moved that Sid Smith and At. Aland! be reclassified to junior. Seconded by G. McCullough and carried. .Also Bob Smith and J. Wright.
»-Al C. J. P. Sellers asked re Seven-a-side fixtures. Mr Aldridge gave the Union his verbal explanation of Exhibition sports meeting which was left to Fixture Committee to arrange.
