E.S.A. WARSHIP.
AUCKLAND. April 29. The United States naval patrol boat arrived here from Pago Pago this morning and anchored in the stream. She will thick to-morrow morning for an overhaul, remaining here till May 20tli. In addition to the crew she carries 75 liberty men. An official landing and a civic reception to Captain Pollock (Goveritoi of American Samoa), who arrived by the Ontario, takes place to-morrow morning. During America’s participation in the war, the Ontario was first engaged in escorting submarine chasers to the Azores, West Indies, and other places, and then acted as a tender to the chasers in the Irish Channel, until the armistice. Subsequently for eight months slie was engaged escorting chasers to America.
