ROSS NEWS.
(From Our Correspondent). I regret having to report the death of a very old and highly 0.-toemod resident in the person of Mr William Mason who passed away on Thursday morning at his residence at Donnelly’s Creek. The late Mr Mason was born at Banks Peninsula. Christchurch, and came to Ross over 50 years ago where he lias since resided. Most of phis time he was engaged in connection with the sawmill industry until several years ago he was compelled to retire owing to his failing health. He was 77 years of age and leaves a wife, forr sons and three daughters to mourn their loss. The daughters are Alts C. Woolhouse of Westport. Airs Cuthtr-h oi Crushiugton. and Airs Walton. Greynnutli. Tbe sons are George and Andrew of Ross. Joseph of West-port, and Archie of Blackball. The funeral will take place at I!os s on Saturday afternoon.
