PROPOSED DAIRY COY.
At a meeting at Koitcrangi Public Halt on Saturday evening Air W. A. Jamieson presided over a very large atl en< la nee of farmers of the surrounding district, to discuss the proposal to form a Company to erect a now central dairy factory and cool stores at Hokitika. Mr H. T. Parry outlined what had been done in connection with the flotation of the pro|K)sed company, stating that up to the present 2270 shares had been taken up and 1.150 cows guaranteed, and signatures to the amount of 1 shares mentioned were attached to the articles and memorandum ol Association. The Chairman then gave the meeting the opportunity of deciding what course of action should bo followed, those present having the opportunity of withdrawing from their obligation if they SO desired. The meeting then unanimously derided to proceed with the proposal as outlined, and a further li”> shares were applied for, making a total of 2115 shares.
It was resolved that the AAestlaml Cool Storage ami Central Dairy Coy., Ltd., lie formed villi a capital of t 15.0011 in Cl share-. The following provi-iollal directors were elected:Ale .srs 11. T. Barry (Managing DirocIW. A. Jamieson, R. Harcnnrt. and 11. 11. Monk Koitcrangi), J. 11. Cropper (Wait aha), J . R. D-niglu-(Aiahura). Jus. Thom-on (Rossi, D. J. Evans and -I. J. Mclntosh Hokitika). Subsequently the Emvisionnl Directors met and it wa- re-olved to proceed witii registration of the Companv at once. Mi- Barry stated th” cost of a factory would he between CIOOO and £SOOO. At a meeting of ihe set tiers held immediately after the above, ihe following resolution was carried unanimously:—That in consoquene" of the formation of a iwu' Company those presold give notice to the Knkat.ihi Dairy Coy. Ltd., that i hey were severing I licit connection with the Company and Hint they would not hold themselves responsible for any further expenditure on the Kokatahi factory.
