CANTERBURY EDUCATION BOARD.
The moiillily meeting of the Canterbury Education Board was bold at Christchurch on Friday. Present : .Messrs G. \V. Armitage (chairman), AV. B. Spencer, T. Hughes. R. AVild, A. Beverill. AY. A. Banks. .J. .Afar.e, .J. G. Gow. AAN IT. AA'insor. and E. IT. Andrews.
The Appointments Commit toe recommended the appointment at Koiterangi oi Miss E. Dixon, sole teacher.—Approved.
A h iter was received from the Taranaki Education Hoard, with reference te thi’ frequent withdrawals of teachers after having been appointed. The i ommitiee concurred witli the Taranaki Board that .some action should b - taken. Tkev recommended that unless seme satisfactory reason could be given for wibdrawing from a position for which a teacher luid been recommended, the Board should m,t consider further api-Tications from sueb aiipli-r-aut for six niontli.s. It. was also agreed to inform the Department that the Board proposed to take this step in order to minimise the great inconvenience now being experienced, owing to niniK pe:- withdrawals.
