The exclusion of the Church schools from the Public Schools Association s Rugby competitions, was considered ai a, meeting of the council ei that- body to-day, when an application was received from the Marist- Brothers tor permission to enter two teams in the competitions. There also was a. request- received front the Canterbury Rugby Union to fav«mi ably consider tile admission of these teams for a further period of one year, in order to give the union sufficient time to organise a competition for the Marist and tin- other denominational schools. A motion that the roque-t ol the union be acceded to wo> moved, but an amendment, that a reply he sent to. the Marist Brothers that the association had resolved that- all its competitions he confined to public schools, and that their entries could not be accepted, was parried.
