TUESDAY, APRIL 10. OVERSEER Ml LEXER’S REPORT FOR MONTH OF .MARCH Kokatahi Bridge Repair,-; £ for L' grant.—The work of repairs was continued under the direction of Bridge Foreman R. Boucher, and and a considerable quantity of very defective timber was removed and replaced. Ex- 1 cellent progress is being maintained in | spite of the bad weather experienced. I The following timber was removed and i replaced:—Lower chords 13 x S, I 3S. ! o 27. 3/22. 8 x. 4, 300 .superficial feet, j Transomes Id x 11. 10 2ti. 30 Id were ; hoisted into position on the lower j chords, hut not secured, hour ten:- ; porarv piles were driven and staging : erected to support the spin under re- j pairs : also a quantity of lmlis and iron- j work redressed and rendered lii for i use. COUNTY IVORIES. ; Portions .f Lower Kokatnhi Read repaired with gravel above Raft Creek, j ai-e. approach to Duck Creek Bridge and approach to Murray Creek Bridge. Portions of Lower Kokatnhi road, also approaches to Duck and Murray Creek Bridge were repaired with gravel and 3L’ cubic yards of gravel, carted and dumped at Cropp and Koitcraugi Road junction for Wall Road repairs. Portions of Koiterangi Roads were repaired with gravel carted from the gravel reserve in Mr Morel's holding. and several portions ol Kokatnhi Road between Ivanieri and the One 1 Mile peg repaired with broken metal and gravel. The Roadman attended to repairs to roads and bridges in tbe Mari Hari district including repairs to tbe old portion of Petersen’s Road which "'as metalled where necessary. Tbe newly i onstrncted portion of Peterson's Road was raked with tbe bor«e drawn King din*; "bore badly rutted and the washnut to tbe approach to tbe culvert on Wanganui Elat Road at Hcrepo was restored to its former condition. Roadman Wright attended to repairs to decking on culverts on Waitaha Settlement. Waitaha Beach and Happy \ alley track, also to raking and breaking oil Waitaha Road and cleaning ot watertallies on Wcohiouse Road.
