A peculiar case was heard in Hie North Melbourne Police Court when a German woman named Louisa Muller was committed for trial on a olmroe of stealing goods valued at Cl I I Irom the 'H addon Company's warehouse, whose total losses are stated to lie CIOUI. The accused, in the witness box, admitted taking the goods hut said that her father was interned at the instance of Iladdon. This caused her mother to fall into ill hearth, which so preyed upon accused's mind that she was induced to steal as a revenge against Maddon.
