THE MAIN ROADS.
TRANSFERRED TO THE COENTV COUNCIL. KUMAR A TO ROSS ROAD. The following letter from the Aliiiistor of Public Works, dated 29th. March was received by the Westland County authorities yesterday, and will be considered at Tuesday's monthly meeting of the Council:— “In reference to the deputation which waited upon me on 22nd uit. and further to mine of the 10th. Jan. last in reply to your- of 11th. idem. I have investigated the position with reference to tile repairs necessary to the road as well as to the bridges, on the Kuniarit-Ross Road, and I am plea-ed to be able to inform you that the following issues of authority will l,e approved upon receipt ol satislactorv proposals from your C ouiicil.^ (1) For the repairs to road 200 (2) For repairs and renewal of bridges 1000 1 hope you will however, understand that as from Ist prox. it t.s assumed that your Council will take control of the whole length of tho above road.”
