This will be taken in September next, when two new battleships, the Colorado and the West Virginnia will be completed, thus requiring the scrapping of the Delawnre, and the North Dakota. The new ships will carry eight sixteen inch guns, with a range exceeding 32,000 yards. Six new cruisers will also be delivered between dune and September. WAR ON UNIONS. WARNING TO CAPITAL. A telegram from Ellerhe, North Carolina. says Kirkwood, the golfer, who left f inchnrst, on route for Asheville, in mi aeroplane piloted by Janies Cole find a narrow escape from death, when the plane was caught in an electrical storm, causing a short circuit in the magneto, which compelled the machine to make a forced landing. Fourteen persons are known to he dead and fifty injured, and heavy property damage done by a tornado at Piucville, Lonssane.
