April '• Aeeoiding to the “Daily Express" Aberdeen correspondent, hundreds ol fishermen's, wives led the strikers there against the Go:man trawlers in a fierce light in an attempt to prevent the porters from handling German fish. The women seized policemen by their collars and tunics and dragged them ,fr< m their husbands and brothers. They also hurled jars of crockery front windows. One policeman had to he removed in an ambulance. LONDON, April 5.
In connection with tne trouble over i lermau-ea ughi fish being sold in Britain. there are many of the trawlers at Grimsby now laid up owing to their owners' inability to * btain coal, liecause the coal merchants mu obtain an extra shilling per ton by exporting it, to Germany. Meantime foreign trawlers arc now landing catches of list] at Grimsby, and are pocketing the money which the local men ought to be earning.
MORE RIOTS IN ABERDEEN. LONDON, April 5. Riotous scenes have been repeated at Aberdeen, arising out of the trawlermen’s strike in tlieir attempt to stop the landing of Gorman-caught fish. Many street fights have occurred and police charges are reported, their batons being Used and several have been wounded. The German trawlers, nevertheless. tire marketing their catches. The public are being refused admittance to that portion of the market. Several German trawlers have noon sinned. The situation is serious.
