Although lb<- east at times assumes gigantic proportions, the story is wonderfully kept, and A ineent lalaseo Ibanez, the famous author, could not have wished for a more faithful reproduction than this. The story commences in Argentina, in South America, where a wealthy ranch owner lives with his family. One daughter marries a Herman, the other a Kronehman. When war breaks out the families depart to Berlin and Paris respectively. Julio, who is magniiteontly portrayed by Rudolph Valeo, turn, amuses bimsell in Paris and haunts gambling saloons and dance, balls. He cannot see why lie should have to ligiit. but in iho end he does, and is killed bv his Herman cousin. The .spectacle of the Beast and the four horsemen—Conquest, War, Famine, and Death—is the outstanding, laetor in the picture.
