A would-be bridegroom at a London register office yesterday wa- surprised to learn that marriage licenses once taken out cannot he used to wed any woman in the way that dog liicnses hold good for any cue dog. He told the registrar that he had brought another woman to marry him/ as kc had broken hi-engagement with the woman lie had taken out a license to marry. He suggested that his new fiancee’s name could be substituted for. the name on the license. When told that he must have another license and that the marriage could not take place until 2t hours after it was granted, he left, protesting against the “red tape” of the marriage laws.
