PROMISING ENGLISH PLAYER. LONDON, March 22, H. A. Fyzee, playing at Dulwich in the covered courts singles championship of Europe, beat E. Higgs after a memorable struggle, 7—5, 7—9, (5—2. The “Daily Chronicle” says Higgs is only 21, and has made tennis history. It is at least fifteen years since an English youngster lias taken a set off a lending Davis Cup player. Higgs came within a point of victory. He has revived hope for English tennis. Fyzee’s play in the first set was remarkable. He won after Higgs had led s—o 40—15.
