TUESDAY, MARCH 20th. _ I The monthly meeting of the Branch i was held at the County Chambers at 7.30 p.m. Present —Messrs D. J. Evans (President). TV. J. Butler,, R. Wild, W. I). Markay. J. C. Maclarlane, .3. .1. Mclntosh, A. G. Pilkington, .1. Morris. A oologies were made for the absence of Messrs Dalgleish and Jeffries. Mr 11. Belshaw M.A.. attended and discussed with the meeting the proposals for a Winter School at Hokitika m the coming season. It was pointed out that the School last year established itself in the public favour, and there was a desire to see the school held this year .main, ft was considered that the school was held too early last season for the farmers, hut if held later tills year, there was a difficulty about Kiting the College professors over for the teachers’ side of the school. 'Hie feolinnr of the meeting was that prominence should be given to the fanners side nf the school, and that a date should he -uggestod lo suit, primarily. the farming section of the commu-
nity. . Ajter discussion the period lor the school was suggested from June 25tn.. to June 29th.. and Mr Belshaw was asked to endeavour to make the best arrangement- on or about those dati >• It was resolved also to get in touch wiih the Agricultural Department with ronnril to visiting instructors for the farming seel ion. and to extend a special invitation to Mr Cockayne to gin. a, series of lectures: Mr Belshaw was thanked for Ins attendance and the hope expressed that he would find it convenient to attend the school, and * ss j s t with the general conduct ot the
