AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. IRISH DEPORTATIONS QUESTION. (Received this dnv at 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 20. In the Commons the Labour motion for the adjournment of the debate on the Irish deportations question was rejected by 200 votes to 157. The debate was marked by Labour interruptions and Ministerial counter protests. The Speaker had to intervene repeatedly to restore order. The T.aborites stressed the question whether the Government- were able to get' men returned if there was proved to lie n case n gainst thorn.

Mr W. C. Bridgeman, the Rome Secrotary, denied that the Government had lost control of the in view of the pledges given by the Free State Government which had undertaken that- the internees should have every facility for a personal hearing of their case before an Advisory Committee.

Air Douglas Hogg, the Attorney Gen- V eral, also urged the sufficiency of the Free State pledge to - hold deportees safe from harm, and to return them if the Advisory Committee so directed
