March 10 A young Maori named John Tuhi appeared at the Supreme Court to-day. charged with murdering Herbert Homy Knifdit at Johnsonville on October li, 192‘L Medical evidence similar to that given in the Lower Court was called. Doctor Hector said the fact that decomposition had set in, rendered it difficult to give certain details. He could not say whether the stains were of human blood or not. Dr Gresson said the injury was caused bv considerable violence. A "'sledgehammer would have caused such an injury, and in such ease death would have been instantaneous. YOUNG COUPLE CHARGED. AUCKLAND, March 19. A woman of IS years pleaded guilty in the Police Court to-day. to having unlawfully used an instrument with intent to procure a miscarriage. A similar plea was entered by a young man in respect of a charge of having _ attempted to supply a certain noxious thincr knowing that it was intended to be unlawfully used, with intent to procure a miscarriage. Roth were committed for sentence, bail being allowed in sureties of C”0 each. The Magistrate ordered that their nfvrooft bo not published.
