Hokitika Bowling Club.

When tho Hokitika Bowling Club was \ inaugurated some fourteen years ago the initial cost of laying down the green ran into a considerable sum of money which was obtained from the bank on overdraft secured by the signatures of a number of supporters. The interest charges on this _ amount lui k since caused a heavy drain on the Club and with a desire to reduce the liability, for the past three years an. effort has been made to raise a small sum. so as to steadily reduce the in- Jr debtedness. This year’s effort takes place on Saturday next. The Club is a semi-public one, that is taken advantage of bv visitors to the town, and is at all times an attractive spot making it worthy of patronage, which is now invited. Any -such support will be gladlv received and appreciated, and will help a worthy institution to continue to progress.
