SITTINGS AT HOKITIKA. MONDAY, March 10th. (Before His Honour Mr Justice Adams) His Honour took his .scat at 10.6 a.m. GRAND JURY. The following Grand Jury were empanelled:—.l .Grant, M. 11. Houston. 11. Butland, R. H. Renton. W. R. Vrquhnrt, A. Aitken. R. F. Perliain. I). Stevenson, G. IT. Blank. C. J. Nightingale. H. L. Michel. W. C. Braddon, G. Linklater, T. W. Duff. AY. Jeffries. J. King. P. H. Renton. G. Wood, D. H. Stapleton, L. Gooch, J. 11. Ward. T. J. Andrews and E. A. Wells. Air AVm Jeffries was chosen foreman. Messrs IT. A. Thompson and T. Stopfortli, who did not appeal- when called, appeared later and were excused, having misunderstood the hour to attend. HIS HONOR’S ADDRESS. His Honour addressing the jury, said there was only one case to be presented to them, a charge- against a Afaori ol breaking and entering a dwelling at Kokatalii at night and with entering a dwelling, with intent to commit a crime. A true hill should not bo louiul unless the jury were satisfied there was intent to commit a crime. It would appear that the accused was moio oi loss intoxicated at night, while later in the ni'dit the accused was seen in the house of Air Alarshall. When chased and caught tho accused said: 1 did not know whore 1 arc.” It looked as if the man were drunk and had wandered in there. It was for the grand jurv to consider whether a common jury would -upport the charge of entering with intent to commit a crime.
The Grand Jury retired at HI.JA a.m. The Grand Jury returned at HUH a.m. with no bill against Hui Kai Rebu. The Grand Jury were then discharged.
COMMON JURY The numihars of the Common Jury summoned were called and duly sworn. At 11.10 a.in. the Jury were discharged from further att mlnnoc. IN DIVORCE.
Richard Cresswiek Wootliou.se v. Janet Woolhouse, petition for divorce ~n the grounds of misconduct. Alt Afurdoeh for petitioner. No appearance of respondent or co-respondent. Richard Cresswiek Woolhouse deposed he was the petitioner residing at Pukekura. On 17th August 1806 was married to Janet Mason at Ross. I here was issue of the marriage six children. On Ist- Jan. 1017 respondent left nun and his home, and had lived with Leslie Svdnev Tremaine. A certificate of the birth' of a child at Aliaura was handed it. It was common knowledge that- respondent and corespondent were living together. Hannah Maria Hall deposed she resided at Hokitika. Knew the parties and that respondent and corespondent were living together. Respondent a - milted living with corespondent A decree nisi was granted to be made absolute after three months, corespondent to pay petitioner’s cost, mi lowest scale with disbursements.

Mi Sargent stated these east-, had been settled, and they were sUnrk out. Hannah Eliza Ryan v. UiHm'" Robinson. Air .Murdoch tor plaintiff, and Afr Sellers for dependant Air Murdoch intimated the ease had been settled. . Air Sellers slated that in a newspaper report of the business of the Court, it had been slated the claim was lm money lent. This was incorrect. Robinson' acting for a syndicate, induced Airs It van to invest 212 Ids anti tbi' amount was paid over by Robinson to the syndicate. The actual claim was for mnnev received or undelivered shares. iI is Honour accepted tho statement and the ease was then struck out. ■»••> Keren pa Harawira v. liomas O’Neill. Air Bark for defendant, s a - e,| i bat discontinuance had been filed, and la- asked the Court to assess the amount of costs. After hearing Alt Sargent for plaintiff the question was deferred.
