LEAGUE IX XEAV SOCTH WALKS. SYDNEY, February 22. The children of the Cciumun.’-t Sunday Schools of New South Wales, of which there are several, are. to be lormed into a Voting Communist League. In accordance with the custom of j the Moscow Communist international , the youngsters have issued a manifesto to “the workers of Australia.” It states: ‘‘All the world over to-day the workers are being faced with the most intolerable conditions. Everywhere there is unemployment, and the workers are being forced to the lowest level of starvation to pay ft r the war brought about by the economic renditions resulting from the struggle of the master class for new markets, lit re in Australia, where the conditions arc relatively favourable, the men who fought the war in which they and tie itclass had no interest arc now situ r ing on the streets.” And so the manifest,-- proceeds. It j says that in Russia tilings arc different j am! describes the capitalist ‘-•fates as lor the protection of the few who own | the means of production, against the \ malty who have only their power to j labour. It deals with ‘‘the class! struggle” and says that the Labour' Reties serve merely to patch up the weakness of the system. Then the manifesto states that everywhere the .voting workers are being subjected to the most ruthless expl litation. Owing to their youth and the cheapness of their labour, they arc being used to displace parents. The constitution of the Voting Communist beague of Australia states that its purpose “shall be to organise and e’ueate the young workers to an understanding of their true position in t! .• capitalist society, to work for the ill olition of capitalism, nod the esia!.li'l l ment of a Workers' Siaf -.” Tbi‘ S''a to “will only ,I'lttiet'on until all shall be absorbed in to the cot nine cl when . and join trade unions, where, it is stated, there is plenty of work for them to do in making them Communist in character. It is stated that special attention must bo placed on the press as a means of help in the work.
