The nursery, containing young plants of every variety was visited, and the methods of testing the plants explained. The party visited the flax fields and witnessed new methods of cutting by a diamond shape and matured leaves only. This is said to prevent. damage to the crops giving resistance to blight. The MinmTster impressed at the luncheon Governmen’s interest and promised to assist all he possibly could, but explained the financial difficulties of the Government. Tho sum of £530 lias been spent in research so far, including a state grant of £l5O. The feeling of millers is optimistic and confident that the industry will sooner be restored to its former flourishing condition as a result the experiments.
