A boxing match between Bill Scroggins of New South Wales and Les Murray, lightweigh tchampion of New Zealand, for a purse of .C 175. ended in a liaseo. It was announced as a fifteen threeiniimte rounds contest, but in the second round Scroggins went down, complaining of a. butt in the abdomen. He rose at the gong and went into bis corner. Half way through the third round Scroggins went down again and was disqualified. Murray gaining the verdict.
