This portion of road was after wards repaired by Roadman Whiti.skic, horse teams being used for metal haulage. Repairs were also effected to the decking of small culverts and bridges and an approach constructed to R. Ferguson’s holding on Wanganui Flat Road, in accordance with the Council's resolution.. to under stringers with 8 inch wrought ' skew spikes and with .screw bolts to pass through new stringers and cross bearers. The bridge is ‘then to Ik- redecked with 8 x 3 planking placed horizontally. and 12 x 2 traffic planking placed longitudinally outside the rails. There will he a shallow filling on the present road at each end of the bridge running to a cutting of three feet in depth at the top of the hill, and while these alterations are in progress the roic! between Pine Road and Shenandoah Creek will require to be closed to traffic for at least four weeks.
