All people were proud of their nationality, though some might ask ‘•What is the use of nationality in New Zealand l Surely in this country we are all New Zealanders?” But if everyone forgot their nationality how dull life would be. It was part of God’s providence that men were not all alike, and the supreme value of nationality was that it kept alive the wealth of' the past. It was true that nationality might be a terrible thing when it meant the rivalry in fighting that it once did, but it was a beautiful tiling now the peoples bad learned to love and honour each other.
