Horton (chair man), Sir G. Fenwick, Messrs Leys, S'-hg, ],. Blundell. Gilmour, Wcton. C. 1 •S. .Smith. R. Bell, C. Earle, iluie, Dixon. Coonibe. A. J,. Muir, A. A. Lucas.' Whitlock, Dinwiddie. IJelore transacting any business, tiemeeting passed a resolution expressing deep regret at the death of Sir \V. llries all members standing. The annual report stated, among other things, llm.t 842,L00 words of original cable news were received during the past year, this being slightly in excess of any previous year. It was announced that Reuter’s service was to he amalgamat '(I with the Australian Press Association, and that both this service (with which was included Ihc "8. ydney Stitt’s” new service) and the “Times” service have belli purchased hy the Press Association, and would all ho drawn on ill future li.v the Nc w Zealand paper. It was also mentioned that, improvements would he made in the service of New Zealand papers.
The Chairman delivered an address oil the working of the Association, laying spieial stress on the eneonittms passed on the New Zealand press by \ Liters to llie Dominion, and on the advantages of co-operation. This wnendorsed hy other members. The ad ! dress uas ordered to he printed, at :! t sent to tin subscribers. .Messrs Morton. Leys, and Walson. ( retiring directors, were re-elected. .Mr i Gilmour, another retiring director, did not oiler himself again, and .Mr W. Dinwiddie (Napier! was elected in hiI’lmt.
