ROSS NEWS.

(Our own correspondent.) The annual carnival of the Ross Swimming Baths was hold in the Coronation Baths on Saturday last. The day proved to be fine and a number of competitors and others came front Hokitika for the afternoon. There were good entries in all events, and the swimming was of a high standard, the finishes in the short distance races m the heats and finals being very close. The cigarette and umbrella race the egg and spoon race, and the greasy boom afforded much amusement to the spectators. The following are the results : Diving (school-children). - G. Croft 1. B.
