THE COMING SHOW AT | GREYMOFTII. I 1 In connection with the forthcoming j Show on 27th., and 28th. inst special competitions have been arranged for j the schools throughout the district, both primary and technical. A section embracing 17 classes has been drawn up for which entrance is free. The idea of the section is to give patrons of the Show the chance for seeing what is done by children under the present methods employed in our .schools, as well as to give the children an interest in the Show. It is appalling whot little intelligent interest is taken generally in the education of our young folks. Their schooling lias grown to he taken as a matter of course, whereas it is a matter of most vital importance, ' for as its standard is high or low so the standard of usefulness of children as citizens of their generation depends. Too much publicity into teaching methods and euriculum cannot be given. An exhibition such as will he afforded bv the schools competition at the Show

will serve to bring home to parents, better than anything else will, the achievement- possible under tho present education system, and will serve to amuse parental interest in the education of children. The following is a list of subjects set for Freehand and Cray-
