HOKITIKA EXCURSION.
A HAPPY PAY AT IU'XANTi.V. (Urey Argus). The Hokitika annual Schools’ excursion yesterday saw about 2.J01J people make the journey to Hunanga in two trains. The crowd included contingents from all the places along the railway between R.nss and Kuninra. On arrival at Rimnuga. the visitors proceeded to the Kotare Domain, when' there were a number of boiling coppers upon which the demand for hot water was such that many more coppers could have been usefully employed. Mayor I’attinson. of Runanga, and Air Jferriman of the Borough staff, assisted by Mr I’arlilt and others, waited on Ilk' visitors all day. while many other residents supplied additional hot water and other necessaries. About a dozen motors did a good business ta'kiug people to Hie Seven Mile, while a number of visitors went by train to llcwamii for a glam-e at the mine. Sports were !'■ I<J in ib<- alfernoiin mi the Domain end proved very enjoyable. Mrs Case e Kutnara lady, lent valuable aid to the visitors in connection with the distribution of tea.
