A tram oil Ppper Queen Street collided with another, and thou commenced to run down hill. The motorman having been temporarily incapacitated. Dempsey jumped off the roar iff tlie car. ran to the other end. and applied the hand brakes, thus stopping the car after it had gone some d : -- tance. Fortunately no other ear was oil the line at the time. The motorman of Dempsey’s car is severely injured in the foot. Roth ears were Slightly damaged. The ear was full at the time. Passengers Iretran jumping off. and ono was slightly injured in the hack.
